You can find a million sky photos on the internet but for me there is one that I crave to see.
When work is busy I think of the sunset I will see when I get home. Many think of their children awaiting them but I wonder about which colors will fill the sky that evening. It brings me peace, it reminds me of my Creator, reminds me of the hope life is full of.
I know the title sounds deep, and believe me I can write a deep blog about how I am my dad’s refection but I really do mean my dad’s refection. haha..
I decided to have some fun while my dad washed his truck. The cool thing is that my dad didn’t even ask what I was doing. He just kept washing his car. I love that about my dad, he never once thought I was weird
My friend invited me to a Native American Pow Wow that was taking places near Palm Springs today. He gave me some warning tips since I would be an “outsider”. He knows where I go, my camera comes with me.
I found it very interesting being allowed in to this world I only read about in history books. A place where Native Americans call themselves the name white men gave to them long ago, “Indians.” I couldn’t help but look at the fine details of their jewelry, the colors that were used and the feathers that made them into warriors.
The sound of the drums seemed to go in rhythm with my very own heart beat. The yelling no longer sound like noise but instead I could hear the call of unity.
What I found beautiful, generations before misunderstood.
I recently heard about this wall of art in LA called “The Great Wall of LA.” Artist from the 70′s started painting images of events in history. I found it fascinating that most of the images are some of society’s “secretes” that no one really likes to talk about. As I looked at the paintings, I began to have questions about my background and those who were before me…and I guess that is its purpose. To pass on the history to the next generation.
He worked at an okay job for most his adult life. His passion laid far in the distance and occasionally could be heard when spoken of the future.
When asked, “How” and “When”, he would answer with, “Hope” and “Soon.”
The years passed with no real opportunities in view. He kept moving forward even when he heard, “Accept your destiny.”
His comfortable job was soon fading away. Without the safety of his daily living he was left with only the hope of his youth.
The original plan was brought to remembrances.
The dream he once thought would never happen was slowly becoming a reality. And only at the cost of everything. His time, heart, money but most of all himself. He had to do away with the negative personality he grew over the years. It was time to become the person who he was created to be. To live with divine purpose.
When the day of opportunity came, he was ready.
Now when he enters in the room, his passion for life lights it up. He is doing what he loves. When he wakes up for work he thinks, “I hope to be doing this for the rest of my life.”
