Film Diary: Moonrise Kingdom
Moonrise Kingdom (2012) – “I want to make a film like this” – My first reaction to watching the trailer. It’s an entertaining film but more than anything I enjoyed the way the film looked. After seeing the movie, it was the compositions we were talking about. We even tried to set up our lunch to be symmetrical. Which wasn’t easy, after a few takes I just wanted to eat my food.

I found this film diary in Vancouver and thought I’d share my documentations. Here are some notes I made about the film. (you can get your own here: film diary)

I like the “recommend to ” comment area
me too – although not too many of my friends like my taste in movies
haha. I like the reccomend to section as well… hipsters only.
haha i totally put your name there.
oh it says, “CHRIS” !!!!! i thought it said only haha.
i saw it. and it was good. loved how everything was symetrical. and all that goodness. I had a conversation with the friends i saw it with about the movie… this is what they said, “what’s with all these hipster movies? no one made movies like this before?”
i told them, “well Wes Anderson has always made his movies like this, now it’s just growing into a market, which is a bummer because that means, he’ll have to stop making movies like this, because it’s getting too mainstream…” haha
So funny! But as long as these “hipster” movies have a soul, I don’t mind them being made. Just make sure it has a good story. And this movie did!
